Alright, let's go with a new 60 second strategy!  This is just one I made up on the fly, and I'll call it the 60 Second Follow Through.

Easy as pie, let's look at how it works.

Step 1) Go to www.forexfactory.com and check when high impact news is coming out.

Step 2) Flip your charts to 1 minute time frame.

Step 3) As soon as news comes out, whichever way the first bar goes, 1 second before it closes you enter your follow through trade going in the same direction as the current candle.

Here's an example.

What's good about this?

- You know exactly when your trades are, or if you even have any for the day before the day even begins.

- Your only in it for 60 seconds, so of course you don't have to wait very long.

- Following momentum.

What do you guys think?

Since I have been trading news pretty regularly, what th EA i use does is keeps orders open for 10 seconds, then closes them if no movement.   The first ten seconds usually determines the direction.

IF you want ill try it 10 seconds after news a few times see how it works out, and someone can do one last ten seconds.

I like the idea of this! Simple, straight forward, and should be pretty reliable.

Is movement always that soon after thay announcment? In other words, are ppl literally buying or selling the minute after news comes out? Ive never traded based off news so its new to me. Looking forward to updates in this, im gonna start looking at some potential trades

Hi David, have you live traded this new 60 Sec FT strat yet? Would you then just enter 1-4 high $ value trades on this one, as opposed to multiple low $ value entries on trends?

Haven't traded it live as I don't really do 60 second trades. As I said above, just kinda came up with this one on the fly, however its looking pretty good at the moment. I'll see if I can test one out for us.

OK, will be interesting to demo it, as per my comments above, and see how it goes. Btw ... whereabouts do you live in NC? I am from Asheboro originally. Live in Cyprus now.

I've experimented with something similar, the major problem, I think, lies in the broker shutting down the instrument at that moment, widening the spread or lowering the payout, or all at once!!

I think the same strategy can be applied easily to 5-minute-expiries. As soon as you know the direction of the trend it moves usually  a lot longer .than just a few minutes.

Some days are like 6/6 ITM and others are like 1/6 why is it? Am I looking and bad news? What news do most people trade?

To be honest I've also checked occasionally but also have not seen more than 70% ITM I think. But it seems if the bar goes up (down) you can place a put (call) for the next 5 or 10 min and it will almost always be ITM. At the end of the 1st minute off course!

I think the type of news is the key here. I dont have historical data but I would want to see how this plays out at all NFP reports.

I have a question about this strategy. If for example German ZEW Economic Sentiment comes out. Should I then trade all the euro pairs (EUR/USD, EUR/GBP etc.) or just one? If that's the case which ?

Hope you just paid attention ;)

EUR/USD skyrocketed exactly at 11 GMT +1   but after that dropped further. I Did 1 60 seconds put right after and a put from 11:00 to 11:10. Both deeply ITM.
