@  traderpusa : (19 April 2018 - 12:09 AM) when a level acted as res several times, the probability is very high it will act as sup after break
@  traderpusa : (19 April 2018 - 12:09 AM) you try to find those levels that act as support and resistance
@  rainman : (19 April 2018 - 12:06 AM) you said you drawn supply and demand zones by just connecting any 3or bottoms or tops, correct?
@  traderpusa : (19 April 2018 - 12:01 AM) so both for horizontal SR (or zone) or TL I look for a 1 2 3 to draw
@  traderpusa : (19 April 2018 - 12:00 AM) first point, second point, 3d point of the trendline. You can see after 3, price touched and reversed on the TL several times
@  rainman : (18 April 2018 - 11:57 PM) what's nbr 3?
@  traderpusa : (18 April 2018 - 11:43 PM) some of the best entries are where TL and horizontal cross.
@  traderpusa : (18 April 2018 - 11:41 PM) look where price turned after nbr 3 !
@  traderpusa : (18 April 2018 - 11:40 PM) Trend line example : https://gyazo.com/3c...1486d1c56c02d43
@  rainman : (18 April 2018 - 11:39 PM) got it. thanks again.
@  traderpusa : (18 April 2018 - 11:38 PM) same for trendline. I look for at least 3 points I can connect.
@  traderpusa : (18 April 2018 - 11:37 PM) those supply&demand indi's just draw based on fractal or ZZ. I do the same manually but only when I can connect 3 tops/bottoms or more.
@  traderpusa : (18 April 2018 - 11:36 PM) manually drawn.

I've been running this since this about 9am CST this morning. I turned it off at about 6pm CST but some trades are still waiting to close out. IMO, it is excellent!

Guys I'm not that much into EA's or spot trading for that matter but I tested this one for the past 6 weeks in strat tester and the results are very good and pretty consistent , the bank grew by 20% and it's all fine and dandy as you can see in the print but there's something I dont't get , it managed to make 2k profit with 10k bank and it took 838 trades , maybe I'm crazy but the comissions from all those trades would basically eat more than half of the profits. So my question is how would you make this really profitable , you know brokers with low comissions or no comissions or what's the deal? Because almost 1k trades with 2k profits , you don't need to be a genius to see that the real profit is very small.

I'm asking since I'm currently not trading spot but I plan on starting in a few months and right now I'm doing my homework if you will so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Many brokers have only spread and no commission.

It looks like basket trading where it close all trades after reaching a basket profit of $$$ and after it will restart again looking for next opportunities.

There is a guy on forex factory that trades in this way with an EA and shows all trades recorded in videos

What lot size did you use for testing the EA?

If it was 0.1 then it would be 838 trades * $0.70 on IC Markets ECN account..

which would give you around $1,500 profit still.

I know but from what I learned so far is that there are 3 types of comissions , spreads is 1 type of comission , then the per trade comission and fees on transactions and that sort of things. Still I bookmarked the link it should make for a good read when I have some spare time.

Thank you for the swift response.

I tested with standard settings , I did not touch anything. In fact I was comparing the results with my own EA on which I have worked for some time now using all the BO experience I gathered and I was surprised at the huge number of trades , ofc I know about scalping but this seems a bit extreme for my taste   But you are right even with the 0.7 comission there is still 1.5k profit , on a 10k bank on 6 weeks it equates to around 10% bank increase per month which is very good to be honest considering it's on autopilot. My only conceirn would be the draw down which is a bit high , for me anything above 10% draw down is a No No

Still thank you for the swift response,

Usually there is no SL or very huge SL=500pips for just security purpose.

If you guys watch the link a posted you will understand how these types of EA work.

When they are loosing instead of closing the trade with SL hit they just open another trade, same lots (usually) and same direction at a fixed distance in pips and so on.

The idea is that soon or later there will be a pullback and they close all the basket for a set $$$ amount.

Yes some trade will be loosing but some will be in profit but when overall the basket of trades reach the $$$ target all trades will be closed at the same time.

The drawdown is part of this type of strategy and must be understood and managed properly with the correct lot size and account size.

Simple idea but some time could be risky.

it's a good indication of the health of the EA if SL is <= 80 pips (4 digits) AND if the SL is hit regularly, then you have the Holy Grail

i have it of course

What about spreads? Would that effect this ea? And by how much? Thanks!

Sorry, not much in EA FX action.

Seen that seetings work for 10k accounts with lot 0,01. Pretending to test in 100 EUR account, what settings needed to be changed? Or not even possible
