By nfp do you mean nonfarm payrolls?

Yes he means Nonfarm payrolls, and yes you need to just avoid trading NFP especially when the actual have very big difference with forecast.

In that case you should just ride with the news and go with the flow not against it

2 ITM today. - and a small loss on 20% on a trade, because i took it too early and closed it.
I might be doing some more demo trading on this strat next week to regain my confidence

A very good day after a quiet week so far:

First trade was riding the news and going with the flow of it - 1 ITM

Next 3 trades part 2 - 3 ITM

Last 4 trades insane - 4ITM

Made back a lot of what I lost last week by not following advice and avoiding NFP, you learn from your mistakes  :)

Good day.JPG

Thank you once again homero!

Nice one, Fjord.

Were you watching it or did you get an alert? I got the HF_BB alert on mine at 0932:29 with the price at 0.78977 and already on the way back up. I can see that the price went as low as 0.78915 at some point and your entry looks to have been much lower than mine (assuming that's what the red dotted line is?) so just wondering what got you in as low as you did?

Hi! For some reason i am always watching them, only when using the insane strategy i use the alert.
I don't know why, i said to myself that i had to buy as low as possible and i was patient and waited for it to go totally outside.

It is not every time that i stick to my own rules, sometimes i get impatient. You can see an example here : https://gyazo.com/93...25b3c0203d17b17
That is 3 trades i took on my live account half an hour ago.
Luckily i got 3 itm. But it was nerve wrecking.

Can I just run something past you other news traders (Insane and Part 2)?

Let's say we have a high impact news release at 0930. Do you watch for:

(1) 0930-0950ish: if price hits BB 20/3.0 on H1 chart and BB is relatively flat, enter opposite until 1000

(2) 1000 - 1020ish: if price hits BB 20/3.75 on M30 chart, enter opposite until 1030

(3) 1030: if price closes outside BB 20/3.0 on H1 chart, enter opposite for 1hr

I'm putting together a spreadsheet where I can just enter the news release time and it works out the above times / actions for me (bad memory so like to see it in black and white :) ).

Have I got anything wrong / missed anything?

It sounds pretty correct to me :)

2 ITM and 1 OTM today
The lines are not placed 100% correctly. One of the trades was won by 4 pippets and the OTM lost by 1 pippet.

Has anyone else tried using Stratman Minicharts to try and spot the end of the candle 'surge' outside the BB?

e.g. I have the M5 and M15 minicharts on the M30 chart and try and spot via the candles on the lower TF's when the move might hit exhaustion and thus spot the optimum entry point prior to the candle retracing back into the BB.

I'm pretty raw at it though - I generally just watch for a change in candle colour or the like. Maybe some candle experts can give some hints on what to look for :)
