ATM, maybe I understimated the downward momentum.

Still not so confident about expiry expecially in london and NY, any suggestion HH?

sneaked in one more trade for the day.
a PUT for 5 mins expiry. 10 mins ago.
same rules. VC alert came on. put on game face. check SR, check candle size. Check PA. and enter. For this i did not wait for the confirmation candle which was supposed to be green.
if u look to left of the chart u will see a cluster of SR at a tight level, like a channel. i took that as a collective resistant level. and go for a 5min expiry. 15min expiry might have been risky as AU seems to be gaining strength climbing up.

3/3 ITM for the day. Couldnt get any trades during work.

Is counter trend trading better take one candle expiry?

i would not have taken a counter trade here. Look at that long wick bearish candle.  Although all the rules are met but the bearish candle with that long wick is a no-go.

AU was simply testing the resistant level and giving indication it was going to continue to climb. See how the body of the long wick bearish candle closed within the last green candle.

and followed by another bearish candle also closed within the last bullish candle. It look like an inside bar had formed. i would wait.

Usually inside bar would be followed by a breakout but without any definite timeline. After the second bearish candle, notice the VC has lowered to the neutral zone.

i would wait for a breakout, like a bullish or bearish engulfing candle. Look at the next bull candle. It engulfed the second and last bearish candle. i would have entered at the opening of the new candle.

VC has already done the job for me. It has already sounded off the alert. And for my strategy i do not set a timeline for execution after the sound off from VC.

So up to this point, i am still adhering to the strategy. i used the PA to my advantage.

Inside bar happened. Confirmed by the closed of a bullish engulfing candle and i will go for a 15 min expiry.

Dear HH,

One question: the news section is not updating....!

Anybody know how to amend this - it's affecting my OCD! :-)

Many thanks

Hey man, put this indi.

If you guys don't have all the indis, the template will draw useless objects on your screen. You can add the indis you're missing, or just right click on the chart-->Objects List and delete the first 10 objects

this will be a common mistake for new users to this strategy and even trading.

VC has done the job for informing us this is OS.

for safety and i have mentioned before, if we see a on-coming train, we dont stand in front of it. we ride it.

Your entry was good, but i might have done differently. because the first reversal candle's length seemed hyper extended. Meaning the bounce off was a 'reflex' and it is not legit.

For such case where we are confronting trend, my advise is take 5 mins expiry and get out. i had made couple of such trades earlier. Refer to it and get what i mean.

i do not know if u understand what i am trying to say. But look at my trades. Those that i made with 5 mins expiry, the reversal candles do not 'overshadow' or engulf the last trending candle.

i do not know if there is any relation but i like my reversal candles, short and steady. Those long ones, mostly will fade out very soon.

So taking a trade here is a little risky. But at least make it safer with 5 mins expiry.

The trend is still forming but we can see the strength is there. i would actually wait for a bearish candle to close like the one that just touched the EMA.

and the bearish candle closed with good length. At this point i would ignore VC and entered at the new candle and go for PUT 15 mins expiry, riding the trend.

This morning I'm demoing the new strat.

1# PUT lost.

xeVxQCr.png

I broke the vc thumb rule... but i liked how the previous candle tested the resistance so went with the trend with a put 15m exp.

What about hubba?

the candle movement and length is just shitty here. wait for clearer picture. there is no need to push for trades.

Great job mate!!

Always clear, great strategy and clean chart (like the old one)

I has watching the same chart, I took this thade just before:

gbpusdbo-m5-global-derivative-markets.pn

VC sounded off, waited for PA confirmation, entered for 15 minute right after the pinbar.

I haven't taken your same trade because to me it looked to far from previous resistance and in a too strong trend, moreover I haven't seen a clear PA, But clearly I was wrong, you read much better than me and killed the candle!!

I have so much to learn in BO from you and expecially from your way to think!

U are doing well. u got the idea.

for those 'could have been' it will come to u eventually. pick a few pairs, stick to them, stick to a window. watch them over a period of time. u will get it. trust me, true story.

I did your same trade but with expiry 15m

PI68raQ.png

the last trade was good. the first two  do not meet the guidelines. so i would not take them based on OB/OS conditions.

if based on PA, i wouldnt touch them too. the channel is tight, so are the candles bodies. dont raised your heartbeat over such trades.

there are plenty of easier, cleaner and direct setups.
